SIDING
Cedar, spruce, and pine
Wood siding is still one of the most durable and timeless exteriors in New England when it is properly designed, installed and maintained.
Locally milled, and detailed with the rain screen, flashing, trim and overhangs that extend its service life. It suits a classic house and a contemporary one equally.
TRIM & STRUCTURE
Where it is worth using the real thing
Solid wood for trim and for selected structural components, including timber framing where the design calls for it. Finger-jointed and plastic trim look the same on day one and not at year ten.
Regional mills when we can get them, which keeps the money and the forestry work here.
We avoid finger-jointed trim, plastic trim, composite decking and other manufactured substitutes wherever solid wood is the better long-term choice.
Solid wood is durable, repairable, and well suited to traditional New England home design. By working with regional mills when available, we also help support local forestry and woodworking businesses.
DECKING
Real boards, not PVC
We build custom wood decks with solid lumber instead of composite or PVC decking. Wood decking offers a natural appearance, can be repaired or refinished over time, and pairs naturally with cedar, spruce, and pine exteriors.
For homeowners looking for a deck in New England, real wood offers a practical, enduring material choice with less reliance on plastic-based products.
FLOORING
Solid hardwood
Not laminate and not vinyl. Solid hardwood can be sanded, refinished and renewed for decades, which makes it a lasting investment rather than a finish with an expiry date.
Traditional farmhouse or clean and modern, it adds warmth, durability, and a finish that improves with age.
INSULATION
Havelock Wool & TimberHP
Moisture control. Absorbs and releases water without losing its insulating value, so the wall can dry instead of holding damp.
Air quality. Naturally filters VOCs, the compounds that off-gas from furniture, cabinetry and paint.

FINISHES
We use Vermont Natural Coatings exclusively for interior and exterior paints and finishes. Their products are made with a patented PolyWhey formula derived from recycled dairy whey, a byproduct of Vermont's cheese industry.
